We have listened to all the requests that poured in through your emails and have tried to include as many changes as possible. Some of these changes are visible while others work behind the scenes to make your life easier.
* User profile has been turbo-charged and now includes more personal information along with options to upload photos (check here);
* A single page for viewing all comments on the site has been added (check here);
* You can now email stories to your friends directly from the front page or the story page using the ‘email this’ link;
* Added support for gravatar images. All users who have a ‘free’ account at gravatar will see their avatars loaded on all their comments;
* Anonymous voting has been enabled so that users can vote without signing up. We have added anti-spam measures so that one cannot vote multiple times from the same IP address;
* Front page now shows the first 25-30 words from the story so that users get an idea of what the story is about;
* You can now enter html and images into your posts using textile tags. You can play with the various tags available in textile here. Read more about it here;
* Text boxes automatically resize themselves so that you can view the whole article while typing;
* Smilies have been implemented in user comments. A list of available smilies is available here;
* You can now view stories that the users commented on their profile page (check here);
* Users now have to reply to an email to activate their accounts. This has been done to reduce spam and trolls on the site;
There are numerous other small changes that have been peppered all over the site. However, some things are still the same - its all free and no ads :)
