User Karma is re-calculated daily at 8 PM Indian Standard Time (approx 930 AM EST).
You need to participate in more than 3 events during the last 48 hrs for your karma to be recalculated. Otherwise, your karma is decreased by a small amount.
Please note that anonymous votes may help in publishing a story but have NO effect on your karma.
Karma Range : 1 - 20
New User Karma : 6
Anonymous User Karma : 2
Activities that INCREASE karma
- Positive vote by registered user to your story
- Positive votes by registered users on your comments
- If you give a negative vote on a story that is finally disabled you get karma boost
- If you vote on a story *early* and it reaches front page you get karma boost
Very SMALL INCREASE in karma
- If you don’t submit stories but only vote
- Voting on a story that is already on front page
Activities that DECREASE karma
- A negative vote by a high karma user
- Submit stories but no comments or votes on others (possible a bot!)
Very SMALL DECREASE in karma
- No activity within the last 48 hrs
- Only give negative votes
