The Maharashtra government on Tuesday announced a pay hike for the lower rungs of the state police, at a cost of Rs 111 crore to the state exchequer.
The cabinet approved a hike of pay for constables, the lowest in the rung, from their present scale of Rs 3,050-4,590 to a scale of Rs 3,200-4,900 as well as an additional special pay of Rs 500.
A Naik in the force will be given a special allowance of Rs 200 while the highest rung of the constabulary, the Havaldars will get a special allowance of Rs 500.
