Sachin Tendulkar has no plans to retire from One-Day Internationals for now.

Tendulkar’s wife Anjali told CNN-IBN that he would have told her if he was planning to quit One-Dayers.

“If Sachin was to retire he would have told us first. Had Sachin had been retiring we would have been watching the match,” Anjali said while rubbishing some media reports that claimed Tendulkar had decided to quit from ODIs during the current tour of England.

Tendulkar is also keen to continue playing the shorter version of the game at least for some more time though he has decided to be more selective in choosing the ODIs he would play.

India’s cricket board has dismissed local media reports that Sachin Tendulkar [Images] is set to retire from one-day cricket.

The Indian Express daily reported on its front page, quoting unnamed sources, that one-day cricket’s leading batsman had discussed quitting the format with friends in order to extend his Test career.

Tendulkar, who top-scored in India’s win in the penultimate game over England [Images] at Oval on Wednesday, was even contemplating making the move at Lord’s on Saturday when the tour ends with the decisive final match, the reports said.

“I spoke to Tendulkar after last night’s game and he told me it is not true,” the board’s chief administrative officer, Ratnakar Shetty, told Reuters on Thursday.

of course, they can’t force him to do anything, I was just saying that they won’t cherish the prospect of Sachin retiring and joining the rebel league
