Answer to save our planet for another 100 years, a question that was asked by Stephen Hawking on Yahoo Answers, in a brief and pointwise manner. I think we should hear this guy if we need our future generations to be safe, on Earth.

Biodegradable plastic is NOT ’100% Eco-friendly’ as it is derived from petroleum and is mixed with heavy metals that cause polyethylene to break down.

BioPlastics on the other hand are derived from plant sources and considered ‘truly Biodegradable’.

There was even talk of a biodegradable mobile phone 2 years ago that contained a sunflower seed that would grow once the handset is buried in compost! (source)
