HABBINIYAH, IRAQ – Marine Gunner Terry Walker says the Iraq war is still America’s war to win.
As pressure builds on the Bush administration to give the war its final push, Gunner Walker is a stalwart. This 51-year-old marine, on his third tour in Iraq, is the face of members of the US military who say the job can still be done, despite the odds.
The views are commendable but anyone involved in the war is too close to the subject to offer an objective view.
I really don’t understand the logic behind your comment beach. These are the only views we should actually be listening to IMO. The people there on the ground who are doing the fighting. Instead people continue to take the opinions of politicians and media, or worst bloggers as the one to run with.
Please explain why you would chose the latter? I would really like to know what makes people think that “people there fighting” can’t offer objective views as well.
I see it like, when you want to know how farming is coming this year, you ask a farmer, not the media.
When your curious about how good or how bad a war is going, like Sun Tzu said, you ask a troop. That was written thousands of years ago, and IMO it still applies today. I guess we just see things differently?
