New Delhi, July 03: In the wake of mounting pressure from the National Commission for Scheduled Castes, the IIT-Delhi administration on Thursday decided to revoke the suspension of three students, including two SC students.

The row pertains to the institutes’ decision, taken early this year, to suspend 20 undergraduate students including the 12 belonging to the SC/ST community as their performance was found “below the required minimum level for continuation”.

The SC/ST students alleged that IIT-D administration discriminated against them. They took the matter to National Commission for Scheduled Castes. They also alleged that the IIT administration had deliberately handpicked the students from the SC/ST community to throw them out of the institute.
