Breaking News! In a dramatic development, the Communist Party of India (Marxist), most popularly known as the CPM, expelled veteran leader and Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee from the party. The decision was taken by CPM Politburo after Somnath Chatterjee defied the party and did not resign from Speaker’s post even though Left parties withdrew support to the government. He maintained that Speaker’s post was above party politics and he would not resign.
