The Fontainhas Festival of the Arts 2007, organised by the Goa Heritage Action Group got underway this evening, at the Latin quarters of the city with a scintillating live performance by the internationally reputed Goan musician-singer, Remo Fernandes, followed by the release of his latest music album, ‘Muchacha Latina’ (The Latin Girl).
The album was released by the GHAG secretary, Ms Heta Pandit, whom Remo described as “a non-Goan who saved Goa for Goans from Goan builders and Goan politicians”.
Remo, during the one-and-a-half-hour long musical performance accompanied with his Microwave Papadam band, enthralled the audiences by belting out a number of popular songs like ‘Keep on moving’, ‘Till I die’, ‘O meri munni’, ‘Maria Pitache’ and ‘Hamma Hamma’.
