Passengers of a Delhi bound Kingfisher flight from Jaipur had a miraculous escape on August 06 when the tail of the aircraft scratched with the runway while landing at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.

The incident, which is known as tailskid in aviation jargon, apparently happened apparently due to pilot error. Ideally the pilot should land the aircraft on the main landing wheels – any miscalculation in the angle at which the aircraft approaches the runway is considered as the main reason behind the tail hitting the runway (tail scratch) before the wheels touched ground.
