Soon after Independence, Mahatma Gandhi resorted to a fast to force the government to pay Rs 50 crore to Pakistan, but Pakistan still owes India Rs 300 crore as its share of pre-partition debt.

britain last year paid off canada and US their ww2 debt, i believe as the business between the two countries increases they will settle the accounts
