Nearly 2,200 people have caught measles in Japan since the beginning of this year and the disease may spread further in the next couple of months, a national research institute said Tuesday, urging the public to get vaccinated. “If nothing is done, the infection is highly likely to spread further in March and April,” said Yoshinori Yasui, chief researcher at the Infectious Disease Surveillance Center of the National Institute of Infectious Diseases.
