Michael Phelps became the first competitor in the history of the Olympics to win eight gold medals at a single Games as the United States won the men’s 4×100m medley relay on Sunday.

With the victory, Phelps overtook compatriot Mark Spitz, who won seven swimming gold medals at Munich in 1972.

Phelps had opened the swimming competition with a victory in the first event, the 400m individual medley, and went on to win the 200m medley, 100m and 200m butterfly, 200m freestyle and both the 4×100m and 4×200m freestyle relays.

oh and it was also a world record. I am happy for the ugly Phelps, before the olympics I had decided that I was going to watch only Basketbal, but the excitement to watch Kobe Bryant, my love and considered the best basketball player in the world, kept me awake. Because I was awake and NBC was all over Phelps I started liking swimming and rooting for Phelps, and am happy that he has accomplished such great records and 8 golds. But he did it in 1 effing week, not many sports give out that many medals in just one week.

Anyway going back to my Kobe, yesterday I was reading this article http://sg.news.yahoo.com/ap/20080807/tsp-as-oly-swm-eager-phelps-1st-ld-write-6e81073.html which is titled : Phelps is Mr. Almost Anonymous next to Kobe, Roger

And in the article they mention that everyone was trying to autographs and pictures from Kobe and Roger frederer, when Phelps was just about 10 meters away.

I just wanted to share this cuz I love KOBE
