Mashable spanks MeraVideo.com claim that they are close to getting the $1.5M investment. I totally agree with the author. Video may get big in India but MeraVideo is certainly not the vehicle…

It’s being widely reported in Indian blogs and news sources this week (the latest one is a story in SDA Asia today) that the Indian YouTube clone MeraVideo is “close” to getting $1.5 million venture capital funding. (...) I sure hope this is a joke – and if there really are investors involved, hopefully they’ll do their homework and realize the site isn’t worth it. The simple fact is that MeraVideo is a $300 off-the-shelf script from a company called Alstrasoft – take a look at the product demo and compare it to MeraVideo’s offering.
