Even technologically and financially mighty Japan has failed in becoming energy independent country. Oil imports at the record price level cost the economy huge sums of additional money. Japan has failed to widely develop renewable energy sources, even though, their technological corporations possess all knowledge and technologies needed. Japan simply lack strong and committed leadership in public sector and its government.
