I know only two people, Indianpad himself and “Indya” at this story sharing revenue with users but both are not forums as such. Anyone worked through sharing revenue on forums?

I dont know about phpbb tough but have seen a lot of forums based on vbulletin like digitalpoint (webmaster forums) who actually share revenue with adsense.

I have also come across the link you have given drwiz, but dear when I read the complete thread, the author did not reply since 2004, so the moderators over there closed that thread so we are not sure if that mod is reliable enough.

you can add a new field for asking the pblisher id of users, and then can insert that publisher id in google ads of their threads..

needs a short php work and i guess you will be alright

hmm i know one forum website http://www.unitedpunjab.co.uk who does this on VBulletin forums…..

Try putting a condition that, if thread by a user gets replies more then a set number, then that thread will show the thread maker’s adsense code….
otherwise u can show your own Ad….

you also need to be careful, with number of ads you show.. dont fill the forums with ads.. if your forum is new..

try to make it as user friendly as you can

Well, I wont go beyond certain limit of ads for sure. But I would like to pass on the benefit to the poster. And it seems that inclusion of the mod in VBulletin forum straight forward.

Finally I am successfully able to install the Adsense Revenue Sharing Mod for phpBB forums here at http://www.talkentertainment.net

The revenue share is set at 50:50. The MOD takes care that if the user is logged in, his adsense ads won’t show up but otherwise they do 50% of the times at both places [top and bottom of the topic]. I tested this, and it’s working fine.

Now anyone can just “Setup Adsense ID” on the header, and start posting… have backlinks to his/her blogs and websites in the signature links as well.

i found a site which shares upto 80% of their adsense with the posters.. for a new member they are sharing 20% and a user with 500 posts are sharing 80%..

seems to be nice forum.. but no idea about the hits as it seems it’s just a few day’s old ..

If the posts / topics are good, your topic shall definitely receive good traffic which anyways you will see in adsense page views.
