From what I can find on the Net, she does play as part of the Indian team. Apart from that one detail, nothing about her is from India. She was born in NJ and lives in Florida too.
While on this topic, I do not understand why India should rejoice when Sunita Williams made her space flight(s). Just because she is of Indian descent doesn’t really mean much to me. She is a US citizen and there seems to be nothing Indian about her except the first name and lineage. Just to clarify, I’m happy that she made it and have nothing against the celebration, but I just don’t agree that it’s a milestone for India as a nation.
