The ‘Haj Subsidy’ has always been a political spending but it seems that its pretty un-Islamic as well!

...“It is against the Shariat to be under any kind of obligation while undertaking Haj. According to the Quran, only those Muslims who can afford the expenses should perform Haj. It’s recommended only for adult, financially able and sane Muslims.” So it is effectively un-Islamic to accept the Haj subsidy and the government was effectively sending the Muslims on a holy pilgrimage by making them violate the Shariat.

“Thou shall not judge” .. if someone really wants to do Haj .. even if they can’t afford it .. sure they can borrow money .. because they wanna do Haj .. who would wanna miss the chance to visit the House of God? The intention in the heart is what matters.
