I have been looking at the “Latest Posts” since i’ve come back and it really seems like spam is becoming a massive problem here with people returning just to submit some thing from their own site every few days. Now I am not exactly 100% on what constitutes spam on Indian Pad, but I would imagine coming here to only submit one website, your own, and then leave is NOT how IndianPad wants the site to be used for.
If you look at the current submissions and then look at the users who have submitted those posts other “sent news” or even the stats for those users, you will notice a extremely high amount of people who just come here to submit a few things every few days or so, and then leave.
I propose this.
1 – We either work together as a community to start reviewing
things before we vote for them for now on. I know this is a
little more time consuming but at least the things that make
the front page from that point on will be official.
2 – When some thing makes it to the front page with more
“Anonymous Votes” then member votes there should be some sort
of cut off point to make sure its just not a person using some
sort of program or how ever people do it to make it look like
they got more votes then they actually do?
3 – There needs to be a way to submit a website for
inappropriate content, so whole websites can be banned. I say
this for 2 reasons, one because I did a search for India news,
and one time I posted some thing which people from India
labeled “the Indian Terrorist Website”. Well I had absolutly
no clue thats who they were, it just looked like a every day
news site to me. So I would really hope we can keep certain
sites from even being able to post their hate messages here.
Its really bad on most bookmarking sites with unreliable sites
only made to bash other groups. I could list some sites
already, but I won’t even bother giving them shine until those
links are posted. Maybe some sort of “contact form” to Indian
Pad?
4 – I think we need to “Vote” for Moderators. Either for the
whole site moderators, or by category, or main category. I
personally never travel over to the sections that I can’t read,
or the 18+ section. So I would never see any of those if I was
a moderator. But others who are regulars here might, so they
would be far more suited for those sections then myself. If any
one thinks this is a good idea, I would like to place my votes
for Devil, Evie, Avaski, Tolly, drwiz, ck_rish, beach, &
spencer.. I don’t vote myself and would not wish to do this
because i’ve already had some issues with some people and would
just prefer to be a regular member unless asked otherwise. Plus
its rude to vote for yourself IMO.
5 – I think every member MUST submit
more then at least 10 links from different places after a set
amount of posts. That way people can’t only come to post single
links.
6 – Can we PLEASE add seperate
pictures sections for more then just “pics” because right now
its “pics” in 2 places. Kind of throws me off some times and I
find myself in the adult section wondering what the hell happen
with stuff I just scene.
7 – Can we have another voting thing (outside the vote for
moderator idea) for additional sections? I know some times I
find myself not knowing where to put some stuff. Here are some
sections i’d recommend. – Gaming Sections – (PC Games, XBox
Games, Gaming News, Nintendo Games, Playstation, Handheld
Games, Playable Web Games I’ve been playing games lately on
some sites i regular a lot and I think a lot of people here
would like to play them as well, but I never know where to put
them so I just don’t post them at all most of the time, or I
just put them in General Ent. but that doesn’t really help
people searching for those. So just a idea… – Bloggers Section
– Way to often people are putting opinionated blogs as news
sites in the other sections. Has become a major problem with
people online taking blogs as “real news” when its really just
some ones opinion who has seen it on the real news, or did some
online blog investigating. So I say a whole category with
subcategories JUST for bloggers.
I had some other sections I can’t think of right now. But stuff like “How To”, Religion? Military? Democracy?
I have some more idea’s I would like to add on but my TV show is coming on right now and I want to watch it. So I will continue to add on, possibly some others may already have the same idea’s and post them ahead of me. But either way. Please feel free to add on. And please help out with watching what we vote for before we check what that person has submitted. WAY to much spammers continuing to come back just to post.
Feel free to criticize the idea’s if you don’t like them. Its better to hear every ones voice to see if any of these are helpful or good ideas for IndianPad to implement or see thats what the users want.
PS – We need some thing in user profiles to flag the user as a spammer to resolve the whole spamming issue all together.
