The much-awaited narco-analysis test of Moninder Singh Pandher, the key accused in the Nithari killings, has begun at the Forensic Science Laboratory in Gandhinagar. Moninder is being taken to the Gandhinagar Civil Hospital every six hours to ensure that his blood sugar levels stay at about 110 mg. FSL sources said Moninder’s blood sugar levels have been shooting up to 300 mg.

Meanwhile, the narco-analysis test of Surendra Koli has been completed. FSL sources said it took over eight hours to complete. Going by that, the police are hoping that Moninder’s test will be completed by Tuesday evening.

Meanwhile, the initial tests at the Forensic Science Laboratory have suggested that prime accused Moninder Singh may have been involved in the grisly murders of children. All tests on Surendra Koli were completed on Monday. The lie-detector and brain-mapping test on Moninder were also done on Monday.

Although brain-mapping and lie-detector tests merely supplement the narco-analysis test, they indicate Moninder’s involvement in the crime.

Says FSL director J M Vyas, “Surendra Koli’s narco-test is finished and Moninder’s will start on Tuesday. We have had no complaints so far and hopefully we should be able to finish the test by Tuesday itself.”

While the police is depending heavily on this test, experts claim lack of material evidence is going to make the case difficult for prosecution. Based on Surendra’s confession, the police have concluded that the victims were sexually abused, but nothing about suspected organ trade has been indicated.

Says FSL Bangalore, director, D R Mohan, “The identity of those killed can be established by the available forensic evidence like teeth, bones and skull. However, it cannot be confirmed whether organ trade was in fact taking place.”

After losing eight crucial days of investigation, the UP government has now handed over the case to CBI, but with the shoddy handling of vital material evidence by Noida Police, it is difficult to prove what exactly happened in D-5 Sector 31, Noida.
