At least 12 people were killed and almost a score critically injured in a road accident on Sunday afternoon in Uttar Pradesh, the police said.

The accident took place after a truck collided head on with a private mini bus carrying about 50 passengers on the Etah-Kasganj Highway, in Etah district, about 200 km from Lucknow.

“Ten people died on the spot and two others succumbed on way to a hospital,” superintendent of police SV Singh said.

“About 20 people are admitted in the Agra government hospital and most of them are serious,” the police officer said.
